     1st shelf - Schuco models , part 1

The first three shelves are reserved for Schuco models .

Schuco is an old firm , founded in the begguining of the 20st century . Tin and plush toys were the main production until the 50's . In the late 50's , Schuco started a new series called " Piccolo " , small metal models , 1/87 scale , aproximately . In the 60's the 1000 series ,  mechanic toys with diecast bodies i
n 1/43 scale , was introduced . The 600 series , diecast 1/43 scale models and the 800 series , 1/66 models were introduced in the 70's . Excellent models , the 800 series had diecast bodies and bases , plastic interior and wheels and were sold in plastic boxes . Some dies were sent to France and Brasil . Norev , in France and Rei in Brasil start producing the same models with different colors in the 80's . Schuco is now part of the Simba Group and is still making a great variaty of toys .
I will show now my collection of 1/66 Schuco models , wich have a couple of missing models alongside with a rare yellow GT 1900 . As usual the first models are unboxed mint or almost mint while later models are mint boxed even if some boxes are cracked and missing paper and or protective foam . All my Rei models are displayed in Schuco's shelves . Unfortunatly I haven't the Norev Manta A .
In the first shelf opel models of the late 60's , 1966 Commodore A Coupe and 1969 GT 1900 and Admiral B . Excellent castings with metal base , these three models are very accurate , maybe the best in the market .

Starting with the GT 1900 , Schuco made the GT 1900 and the GT/J , references  301 814 , 301 848 and 814 .  Excellent body lines ,  with oppening doors , the complete door , like in the real car , clear glazing and red or black ( rare ) plastic interior . Plastic wheels with chromed hubcaps . Base including the front bumper , grille with engraved number plate and fog lamps , the rear bumpers , lights and number plate . Engraved on the base , as in all models of this serie , there are some technical information about the real car . I have seven GT but only six different versions . Schuco made the GT in blue , red , orange and yellow . On the right , # 352 of my collection a MB deep red example with red interior , followed by # 396 , the rare yellow with red interior version . On the center you can see two blue with red interior models cars # 335 . In the midle of the 2 blue cars # 67 an orange GT/J with black interior . The two cars on the far left are # 535 a darker red , red interior model and # 493 , a red interior orange GT/J .

On pic 2 the GT line on the left . On the right the Commodore A Coupe models . Reference # 811 and # 822 for these Schuco models , the first for normal models and 822 for " racing " models . Excellent diecast body with oppening doors , metal base including engraved grille with headlamps , engraved rear valance , front and rear bumpers . As always in this series plastic wheels with chromed hubcaps , clear glazing and red plastic interior . On the right # 66 in my collection ( doubles on the center of the picture ) , an yellow 822 with matt black motor hood . Another # 822 , # 338 in my collection , this time a silver model with matt black motor hood , mint but unboxed . The next car is my first Schuco , # 3 in my collection , a light metallic blue 811 model . The dark metallic green model isn't standard , it was repainted . Besides these models I only know another blue model also # 811 , that I haven't yet in my collection .

Pic 3 , on the left the Commodore A models
, you can see the rear of the models included in the base . On the right the Admiral B , made by Schuco and Rei . Excellent diecast model with oppening front doors , metal base including engraved grille , head and fog lamps , rear lights and number plate and front and rear bumpers . On the base , as for the rest of series 800 Schuco models , you have engraved technical data of the real car . Clear glazing , plastic wheels with chromed hubcaps and red or grey interior for all Admiral models . Reference for Schuco models was # 819 while for Rei models was # 301 819 . The first Admiral , # 163 in my collection , is the light metallic green with grey interior variant . # 340 in my collection is the rare red with red interior variant , while on the right # 68 is the more common metallic green with red interior and the last green model is a double . Theses three models are mint and boxed . The blue models are Rei and are similar to the Schuco models , only difference is that in the base you find Rei as brand . My models aren't perfect but very good models , the model on the left is blue with grey interior while the other is metallic blue with red interior .

In this side of the shelf , pic 4 , you can confirm how these models are excellent . The oppening doors doesn't spoil models , rare on this kind of models .
