2 nd vitrine - Siku models

     5th shelf  Late 70's models , Kadett D and Senator A

Siku didn't make any new Opel models between 1969 and 1980 . But , with the idea that " kids buy daddy cars " in the late 70's the Kadett D and the Senator A were released by Siky . Unfortunatly quality wasn't part of the game and both cars , even if valuable today , have bad body lines . The Kadett looks like if it was " smashed " , low and wide , while the Senator even if it was well made has a completely wrong base , so the car has the front wheels near the front bumper spoiling the model .

I know very litle about the Siku # 1040 Senator A and # 1047 , Kadett D . Six variants of the Kadett D were made all packed in blisters , except for the SCN , Siku Club Nederland wich has a special box . Openning trunk , detailed interior , metallic base with engraved headlamps , plastic inferior part of the body including sills , wheel arc extensions and maybe the interior , but I'm not sure a
bout the interior because I've never saw a wrecked model . The metallic brown is the more common , followed by the yellow , blue and white . The two promotional models are the SCN and the " BUD " for the swedish Post , both quite rare . Wheels are the standard sixteen spoke for all , while it's possible to find more than one blister .

The Senator , detailed red interior , plastic rear lights maybe part of the interior , openning front doors and standard sixteen spoke wheels . Base including unpainted bumpers , rear bumper with tow hitch , engraved grille and headlamps . I know at least 3 different blisters . The Metchy - Siku Senator is similar except for colors and box .

Pic 1 , on the right , the SCN , Siku Club Netherland box , the Kadett was inside the box but it is pictured on pic 2 . This is a common metallic brown model SCN marks on the motor hood . In the midle 4 Metchy - Siku , these models were made in Hungary . No changes on the car , only colors are different and no blisters only window boxes . On the left the bright red Senator , mine isn't perfect but it was the better I found .

Pic 3 shows 3 Siku and 4 Metchy - Siku models . The german models two dark red , to show the front and rear are similar and on the right the bright red version wich isn't as good as I wanted . The Metchy models , two of my models have a wrong box , are similar . I have three different blue cars , dark metallic blue , light blue , light metallic blue and a yellow , always red interior and black steering wheel . Wheels like the german Siku .

Just look how nice are these models only spoiled by the wheelbase ! In the midle you can see the Metchy light metallic blue car . On the left the Kadett D cars . As you can see I have all versions .

pic 5
Here you can see my four standard Kadetts and the BUD yellow version . On the right the yellow BUD , light yellow body and yellow inferior part of the body and interior , standard wheels . BUD badges on the motor hood and doors . Behind two normal blisters with brown and blue models . From the left , the SCN box , the metallic brown , the blue , orange and white versions . They are all similar except for the color .
