| 1991 , Opel with the Frontera SW and Sport starts a new auto category , the SUV . It was sold here in Portugal and all Europe as an Opel . As Isuzu , Opel , Vauxhall , Honda and maybe others I don't remember , it was widely sold . Even if the " classics " are only cars , no breaks and even less the SUV , I think this model deserves a place as a classic , if not by other reasons , at least as the first real SUV . Siku made only the Frontera Sport , but very well done . Nice body lines , colors and wheels made it a model , not only a cheap toy . The Frontera A and B were # 1027 or # 1354 , the first reference was the car alone while the second was the car with a boat . They were packed in small blisters . Both Fronteras have very goood body lines including engraved front grille and rear lights , plastic headlamps , plastic base including bumpers and tow hitch , plastic black rear hood , black spare tire , grey or black detailed interior and excellent five spoke wheels . On # 1354 , there is a plastic two tone small boat , usualy orange and yellow , but I have one unboxed Frontera with a red and blue boat ( standard ? ) . The rear hood for this reference is different because it has two hooks to hold the boat . There are also a couple of gift sets , Frontera towing a Caravan , motorcicle or even a horse box but I will show them in shelf 8 .
