From Nossa Senhora do Monte church to Funchal in a very special " osier basketwork car " with wood skates . Note the " oversteer " in the bends , the speed was 30 / 35 Km/h ! I've made this trip 30 years ago and it was faster because the road was stone paved . Now , the asphalt road has more grip and the drivers must grease the wood skates in the midle of the trip .
This film was made 3 days before February the big flood that almost destroyed Funchal !
